The Center
The Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Center is located on Highway 14A, just east of the Cal S. Taggart Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area Visitor Center. We are currently open from 11 - 5, Monday through Friday, but our hours will expand during the summer.

The Center is currently housed in a 30' x 40' log building located in the northeastern corner of the Center's 12 acre property. At the Center, visitors can learn about the color, conformation, and behavior of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horses as well as the history of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range. Visitors can learn how and where to best view the wild horses as the Center keeps track of the current location and status of individual horses. There are often domesticated descendants of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horses available for viewing on the Center's property. The Center also offers a selection of items for sale in the gift shop related to the Pryor Mountain Wild Horses as well as other herds.

There are plans to eventually build a larger Center Museum in the future. The 16,000 square foot building will include a number of exhibits, an orientation theatre, a library, classrooms, a multipurpose room, gift shop and offices. There will also be a second level observation deck that will provide an elevated view of the Pryor Mountains to the north.
